Marshall Law - 2006 Release
This is probably one of my favorite CDs that I have recorded. The beauty of Marshall Law is not only does it show my growth as a guitarist and producer from Gypsy Blues, but I also think that the guitar playing is some of my best.
The idea for this CD came from a good buddy of mine Kyle Ellison of Pariah fame and Shawn Sahm of Presenze way back in the early 80's. Kyle and I would watch Shawn rip and shredd all over the place on an instrumental track called Marshall Law that was Shawn's solo piece during most of his live performances back then.
I thought titling this CD Marshall Law would be a fitting tribute to how much I learned growing up from those two guys and also my growth as an instrumental musician after the relase of Gypsy Blues.

All original music was written, performed and composed by John E. Davis. Guitar tracks were recorded on Fender Stratocasters and Gibson Les Pauls. Solos and backing tracks recorded with Marshall Micro Stacks and a Morley Cry Baby Wah-Wah.
John E. Davis uses DiMarzio pick-ups and GHS Boomer strings exclusively.
Bass tracks were recorded on a Fender Precision Bass. Drums were recorded using a Boss - Dr. Rhythm Drum Machine.
This CD was recorded and digitally mastered on a Fostex MR-8 digital recording console. CDs were remastered and recorded with a Macintosh G5 computer and OSX music recording software.
Thanks to Vivian Campbell and Jake E. Lee for all the various guitar ideas and musical concepts that made this CD possible. Thanks to Guitar Center - Arlington for keeping me in strings and picks.
